Kibera Art District

We are excited to host our 2nd exclusive edition of the #MtaaExperience in the heart of Kibera, Nairobi.

Kibra, once a dense forest became home to Nubian World War veterans who were settled there by the British Colonial government. Over time, due to different factors, the area has since grown in population to becoming one of the largest informal settlements in Africa. Within the heart of “Chocolate City”, Kibera Arts District is a vibrant community-driven initiative that seeks to bring together artistic expression and community development, while changing the narrative of its surrounding.

The art district aims to transform the perception of #Kibera by showcasing the talent and creativity of its residents through various forms of art, including murals, sculptures, and other visual arts.

Come join us as we learn the history of this great neighbourhood, interact with the people to exchange perspective, explore dope art studios and galleries, paint a kibanda & learn the art of glass recycling.
